Pest Infestation

GGHT will deal with pest infestations in communal or shared areas of our properties or if the source of the problem is on GGHT land, for the following pests:

  • Rats
  • Mice
  • Cockroaches
  • Fleas
  • Wasps nests
  • Bees nests
  • Bed bugs

Where an infestation occurs in your home as a result of a structural defect, we will repair the defect and arrange for treatment of the infestation if the pests are nesting in your home.

We won’t treat an infestation if pests are coming in and out of your home or using a piece of land but are not nesting in it.

Where something you have done is identified as the cause of the infestation we will contact you to advise of this and request that you remove the infestation and put things right to prevent any further infestations. If you don’t do this we may take action and charge the cost of the works to you

Your responsibility

In all other cases the responsibility for dealing with the infestation lies with the tenant or leaseholder. In these circumstances we may offer advice to you.

If you are responsible for your pest infestation visit WBC's pest control section on their website.

Bee good to Bees!

If you have a swarm arrive in your garden please don’t panic – they are probably just on their way to find a new place to live!  Keep your children and pets at a distance and do not disturb the bees.

Go onto The British Bee Keeper Association website and read the information they provide and then put in your postcode and you will get a list of your nearest volunteer swarm collectors.  A collector will come & safely remove them for you for FREE.

The site also contains information on what to do if they are not honey bees and how to identify other species.
