What is CSR?

CSR describes the principle that companies can and should make a positive contribution to society. CSR is the practice of managing the social, environmental and economic impacts of the company.

CSR is about being responsive to our Stakeholders (staff, customers, local community, partners etc.) and behaving according to a set of values which are not set by the law. In practice the term can refer to a wide range of actions such as donating to charity or reducing carbon emissions.

At GGHT we are focusing on:

  • Environment – from recycling materials to reducing the carbon footprint of the organisation.
  • Community – from supporting/running local community projects to working in partnership to improve the health and wellbeing of our customers.
  • Marketplace – including issues such as fair trading and corporate taxes, procurement and contractor management.
  • Workplace – focusing on the rights and well-being of our employees and ensuring we have benefits provided to them that relate to CSR.
